Lets start light.
Real L Word light.
The promos for the 3rd season of The Real L Word are rolling out, and it doesn’t get any fluffier than this!

Katy Perry and Rihanna?
Ok I lied, this might be fluffier, in a faux lesbian kind of way. Katy – I kissed a girl – Perry recently told radio station Wild 94.9 that she won’t put out work with Rihanna, but instead that she’ll put out for her.
Nessa (radio host): Are you and Rihanna ever gonna put music our together?
Katy: No, but we’re gonna have sex.
This was clearly a quick flippant retort, meant to play off of the series of sex related questions the radio host was just peppering her with, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to share for all those Rihanna & Katy fans out there.

So You Think You Can Dance.
Though I’m still sad that So You Think You Can Dance Canada was canned (along with my hopes to meet Mia Michaels), I can say I’m pretty pleased at the return of So You Think You Can Dance – the US edition. I can’t wait for the chosen dancers to really get into it.
Oh, and I’m ready to re-ignite my Cat Deeley crush. You?

Truly bloody again.
True Blood is returning to the small screen this weekend. Excited?
How ’bout now?

2012 Lambda Lit Awards.
The 24th annual Lambda Lit Awards announced their winners. Congrats to all, though I do want to make a special shout out to a couple of our hometown winners, Leah Lakshmi Piepza-Samarasinha for her book of poetry Love Cake, and to Farzana Doctor who won best Lesbian Fiction for her book Six Metres of Pavement. Whoo hoo!
Zoe Whittall interviewed Farzana about Six Metres a while back for Queeiesmag, if you haven’t read that interview yet, check it out here.

Sapphic tales of Marie Antoinette.
Though I’m generally not a period piece lover, I can be swayed if you can offer up some lady loving in the storyline somewhere. Les Adieux a la Reine (Farwell, My Queen) does just that.
Ok I’m in!
What do you think, will you check this film out when it hits theaters June 15th?

Music to my ears.
So I downloaded the new Brandi Carlile album, and can easily say that “Hard Way Home” is my new favourite song right now. If you’d like a little behind the scenes on Carlile’s new album check this video out:
What have you been listening to that I should check out?
-
Ok, I’m off to listen to some good tunes and ease myself into the weekend – have a great one!
