Lisa Ray gives us More.

The beautiful and talented Lisa Ray graces the cover of More magazine, in what happens to be the mag’s love issue – not that you need more reasons to love Lisa.

Rae Spoon & Ani DiFranco:

For those of you wanting more new music, this week I recommend downloading Rae Spoon’s new album, or Ani DiFranco’s new disc.

Here is the title track from Ani DiFranco‘s new CD, Which Side Are You On:

And a sample from Rae Spoon’s I Can’t Keep All Of Our Secrets:

*Also, for Rae fans, be sure to check out their first book, First Spring Grass Fire, which is being released by Arsenal Pulp Press in the fall.

GLAAD Media Awards:

Gladd nominees

The GLAAD Media Awards have announced their nominees for 2011:

I’d also like to send out a special congrats to our homegrown series Degrassi, which is nominated in the Outstanding Drama Series category. Fiona Coyne!

Meryl Streep shouts out.

If you were watching the Golden Globes last weekend, you likely heard Meryl Streep acknowledge Pariah and its lead actress, Adepero Oduye, in her acceptance speech. Amazing!

Vibe magazine recently talked to Oduye about this:
“I’m still in a state of shock. Meryl is an actress that I respect and idolize. She’s one of the first female performers that really inspired me to become an actress. Just to hear my name come out of her mouth, I can’t believe it!”

Hillary Clinton on queer rights:

The American secretary of state gave a speech on human rights — have you seen it yet? Seems absurd that we need somebody to stand up and say, “Gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights,” but since there are lots of people that need to be reminded of this all over the world, I’m glad Clinton is the one with the microphone here.

It’s a long one, I know, but Hillary is eloquent as she puts things in historical context and makes powerful parallels in hopes of resonating with those unsure of their stance on queer rights:

Happy birthday, Dolly!

The one and only Dolly Parton celebrated her birthday this week.

Tomboyfriend retro gaiety:

Okay, let’s wrap up with a gaggle of rockin’ Can-con queers. Here is the new retro mashup video from Tomboyfriend for the track “Hot Divorcee”:

Have a great weekend, everybody!
